When women are part of political decision-making bodies, there are better chances of mainstreaming the gender perspective in policies and programs. Our Champions initiative aims to empower Elected Women Representatives (EWRs) in Bihar by strengthening their voice, participation, leadership and influence within the Panchayati Raj Institution in order to bring about social change on issues that affect women, particularly family planning and reproductive health and other related issues like girls’ education and age of marriage. This film follows the journey of Sunita Devi and Kiran Devi, ward members from Harnaut Block, Bihar. Their narrative of how the Champions initiative by C3 catalyzed their movement towards being better, stronger leaders in their communities, guiding them to create change.
